Checksum

In networking, there is a concept known as the Checksum. In a checksum, a string of bits is placed into a grid. The rows and columns of the grid are added up. If a row or column adds up to an even number, it is marked with a zero. If the row or column adds up to an odd number, it is marked with a one. This is used to determine if information was properly sent over a network.
