"The right of every woman to give birth and the right of every child to be born" was the motto of Birthright Centers which were founded in 1968 by Toronto, Canada resident Louise Summerhill. Birthright opened Ephrata's first pregnancy center on May 21, 1984, and then opened Moses Lake's first pregnancy center on June 1, 1984.
